A/E/C Systems '99 Conference and Expo: May 25-27
A/E/C Systems '99 Conference and Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center will be taking place from May 25-27. This year marks the 20th show, which is the largest international technology event for the entire design and construction industry. More than 20,000 design and construction professionals will find solutions to their most complex challenges in over 150 conference sessions and from 500 plus vendors in a 1300 booth exhibit. Starting this week the AEC Systems '99 Virtual Trade Show is open from the web site. A new feature of this show will be the Designers 3D CAD Shootout for Architectural CADD systems. Formerly this shootout was at Build Boston Expo. The Designers 3D CAD Shootout--for those that don't know--is an intense CAD team competition to solve an architectural design problem using the CAD software that the team represents. Teams representing all of the major CAD software companies will be there racing head-to-head to try and win the award and the minds of the many observers in the audience. Last year the CAD Cup went to ArchiCAD by Graphisoft and the previous year it was awarded to MiniCAD 7 by DiehlGraphsoft Keynote addresses will include such CAD industry notables as Keith Bentley, CEO of Bentley Systems Inc.; Gabor Bojar, cofounder, president and CEO of Graphisoft; and Carol Bartz, CEO and Chairman of the Board of AutoDesk Inc. In addition, there will be a Virtual Tour of Los Angeles from the show floor and many other exhibits and items of interest for architects. The following developers and technology companies providing Macintosh technologies will be there. As this event gets closer, Architosh will continue to review the list of vendors and bring Mac-relevent information to our readers. In addition, we will be reviewing Extranet and Internet applications and systems providers for AEC who are attending AEC Systems 99.
