Architects' Page at Architosh Updated: New Notable Firms!
The Architects' Page at Architosh was updated today with new additions and some corrections. A notable newcomer to the Architosh family is the California firm Koning Eizenberg Architecture (under "K"), just under other notable firm Koetter Kim & Associates (of Fred Koetter and Colin Rowe in Collage City fame). Both firms have been widely published in both magazines and architectural journals and have received numerous design awards. Koning Eizenberg's work is also featured in a monograph by Rizzoli called Koning Eizenberg Buildings. In addition, Koetter Kim's work can be found in a 1997 monograph publication by Rizzoli entitled Koetter Kim & Associates: Place Time. Fred Koetter is also the co-author with Colin Rowe of Collage City, a book that has attained legendary status in architecture schools. The Architects' Page is an important aspect of Architosh, enabling a sense of community, providing a list of fellow Mac-based firms for contact purposes of all sorts, and allowing developers and Apple to see the range and type of firms using their products. In fact, the list in the future will serve all Mac-based firms well when it achieves a critical mass, enabling Architosh to leverage firm-based support to get Apple to take notice of the important needs of the AEC Macintosh community. With a large enough sense of the installed base, Apple can begin to target AEC again when it regains enough confidence and internal resources to expand its markets. And Architosh asserts that AEC is a good target within the Small Business market which Apple is scheduled to reenter. If your firm is not on the Architects' List or you know of a firm that uses Macs please let us know about them and provide us with the necessary information. The Architects' List has the power potential of a petition and the list will not be used by Architosh for commercial uses. Use is strictly for Architosh readers only.
