Mac CAD News: National CAD Standard Project Committee, open to public
The National CAD Standard Project is one of the most important projects currently underway that will likely affect your practice in the future. As a Macintosh AEC or CAD professional, participation is vital to ensure that the needs of your digital practice on the Macintosh are not comprised because you practice on the Macintosh. As a largely Wintel-centric industry, such standards projects and proposals often neglect the point of view of Macintosh-based CAD professionals and software developers. The enrollment period for membership on the National CAD Standard Project Committee for version 2.0 of the standard is now open and will remain open until August 20th, 1999. Open to the Public Membership on the Project Committee is open to the PUBLIC. It is not limited to AIA members or registered architects. A broad spectrum of building industry, AEC software industry and non-AEC engineering industry (telecommunications, electronics, etc.) representatives are welcome. ANYONE with an interest in the work of the Committee is welcome to participate. Architosh encourages you to participate in this important process. Most of the work of the Committee will be conducted over the Internet. Your participation in this consensus decision-making process is strongly encouraged, in order to ensure that the Standard truly reflects a broad consensus of CAD users.
