Mac AEC: Architect Web sites shine!

The Internet is full of trashy, poor designed websites. Such sites are practically the norm on the Internet. Quality design is ovelooked by some of the biggest companies in the world, who's corporate websites suffer from all kinds of design errors. One would think the best sites would come from those in the software and Internet business? Sometimes they do, many times they don't.

Sometimes, it seems, the best looking websites are found in the oddest of places: architecture firms. Architects are, as bunch, a highly educated breed; educated in the arts and in the sciences architects may actually have the perfect combination of judgement in terms of aesthetics, information and organization. But architects generally lack the computer-based graphic design skills and the scripting and technical skills to design a site themselves. Better results seem to come from hiring pros and then designing over their shoulder, or at least using every once of artistic training to critique and improve what is being generated.
