News: Auto-des-sys Inc., Ships form-Z 3.5

Auto-des-sys Inc., has shipped form-Z 3.5, the newest upgrade to the
award-winning 3D program that got its start on the Macintosh platform.
form-Z 3.5 includes over 20 new features, including direct access to the
web, as well as the import/export translator for Art-lantis renderer.
Some special developments in this release are:
- Network licenses support under KeyServer (from Sassafras).
- Independent key for the Imager, facilitates batch rendering and
animation on a second computer without having to buy a second license.
- WindowsNT Alpha version to be discontinued.
Key New Features in version 3.5
- Options menu: Three new colors, Control Editor Color 1, Control
Editor Color 2, etc. an Active Drafting Pane have been added to Project
Colors.
- Palettes menu: Status of Objects palette has been reintroduced.
- Help Menu: Three new items, include form-Z Web Site, form-Z Support,
email Tech Support, etc.
- form-Z Imager: The option to eliminate duplicate lines, when saving
wire frame and hidden line images as form-Z draft files. The ability
to define the search path for files referenced in a project processed
by the Imager.
- Modeling: When NURBZ revolved objects, helixes, sweeps, and skins
are derived from parametric sources and/or paths, the original controls
of these shapes are now used for derivation of these objects.
- Additional adjustments and clarifications have been made for the
above objects.
- Support for left to right text such as Arabic and Hebrew when running
under operating systems that support these scripts.
- Option to search the library when the Symbol Place tool is used
and the referenced Symbol library cannot be found.
- New directions are remembered with the reversing of parametric objects.
- Options for executing the geometric transformations relative to
the local coordinate axes of objects is now available.
- Drafting: Control over the resolution of arcs included with angular
and arc dimension is now available.
- RenderZone: Enhancements to the interface of the Texture Map tool
to allow the deletion and replacement of previously defaulted texture
maps.
