Macworld expo CAD: VectorWorks nominated for "Editors Choice" award
Good news for Diehl Graphsoft comes at Macworld Expo as their award-winning MiniCAD VectorWorks CAD application has been nominated for a Macworld "Editor's Choice" award. Almost one year to the day after it's introduction to the CAD marketplace, VectorWorks, Diehl Graphsoft's core CAD product, has been nominated for Macworld magazine's Editor's Choice Awards. Final results revealed that VectorWorks, a top contender in the science/engineering software category, was runner-up. First place went to Wolfram Research's Mathematica 4 while competing CAD software developer, Ashlar, rounded out the list of finalists with their product Vellum Solids 99. This is the 15th annual Eddy award, and Diehl Graphsoft's software products perennially appear as Eddy award finalists. Diehl Graphsoft CEO, Richard Diehl stated,
"VectorWorks was launched at the Macworld expo in January 1999; this past year has demonstrated that VectorWorks is our top performer thus far and it is an honor to be recognized by Macworld in their science and engineering software category. This nomination further reinforces the strong performance VectorWorks has displayed in the marketplace since its introduction."

While we continue to raise the standard for excellence on the Mac, we remain focused on producing cutting edge technology for both platforms," added Diehl. The Eddy Awards is an annual event sponsored by Macworld that recognizes products specifically for the Mac. The products are chosen on the basis of overall quality and innovative new features. Macworld found the decision exceptionally difficult this year, as it has been a banner year for the Mac and its products.
