MacCAD News: ADA - Americans with Disabilities Act, software?
We were contacted recently with an unusual (but not so, really) request for drawing or CAD software for designing facilities that comply with the ADA (Americans with Disability Act). As trained architects we know that design and building codes variously regulate ADA compliance for new and renovated structures, depending on building type, size, location (as in local regulations) and other conditions. As for CAD software we were not aware of any product that was specifically created to help architects comply more easily with the ADA. Yet this reader's question brought up a very good issue, should there be specialized software for this part of the design and planning process? And are there any products out there that address it, specifically? IF you know of any, let us know and we will share it with everyone else. TIA (thanks in advance) :-)
