MacCAD News: Join the 'Mac3D-Team' - support 3D on Macintosh

An Architosh reader sent in news of this Website, where you can join the Mac3D-Team and support the Macintosh in the 3D market. The site's mission statement reads:

The mission of the Mac 3D Team is to expand the credibility and use of 3D on the Macintosh by:

Providing professional 3D tools and materials to schools, students, 3D amateurs, and 3D professionals who abandoned the Macintosh for 3D on other platforms to use on their Macintoshes;

Promoting Macintosh 3D strengths and user accomplishments;

Supporting the Macintosh community in learning and using 3D;

The Mac3D-Team is a grassroots movement started by Nick Pavlovic, who it appears was a developer for VIDI and, along with other former VIDI programmers, wishes to see the advanced technologies of Presenter 3D (a Mac product discontinued) put to good use. To continue this effort the creation of 3DJoy will include and extend the former 3D Presenter technologies for the Macintosh in future efforts. By supporting and joining the Mac3D-Team you can make this possible.

3DJoy is new 3D application for Macintosh

A CD-ROM version of 3DJoy includes the unlocked version of Modeler and Presenter, a Phong shader, a Raytracer, and MacRenderMan plug-in, animation plug-ins, import-export routines, the DXF import/export routine, plus a wide range of tutorials, models and animation examples. You can get the CD version by making a gift donation in show of support of the Mac3D-Team "of $50 to $100 or more..."

This program is based on VIDI's 3D software which as been used by NASA, NBC, Giger, B&W , and Dennis Holloway Architect ...and more! To see examples click on one of the names above.

Nick Pavlovic seems to have a lot of support on his efforts to expand the 3D market on the Mac. So drop by his site and check out the examples and send him an email with encouraging words.
