MacCAD news: Nemetschek initiates 2001-2002 Learning Tour

Architosh Press Report: Nemetschek North America Initiates 2001-2002 Professional Learning Series Tour

Columbia, Maryland (July 11, 2001) - After tremendous success in its introductory year, Nemetschek North America announced today the proposed cities for its Professional Learning Series. The Series will offer monthly VectorWorks training in convenient locations throughout the United States and Canada. It will kick off in August 2001, in Columbia, Maryland at the Nemetschek North America corporate headquarters.

The Professional Learning Series presents two different hands-on training seminars for designers in various fields. The first course, VectorWorks Fundamentals is aimed at users with little or no VectorWorks experience. It covers the topics of: basic object creation techniques; the Attributes Palette; mastering VectorWorks' snap constraints; effective use of layers, classes, and saved sheets; creating and using symbols; managing a symbol library; using the Resource Palette and the Object Browser; effective use of VectorWorks' powerful wall tools; creating and modifying dimensions and dimension standards; creating and applying hatches; program setup and preferences; practical and simple project templates; and file translation between VectorWorks and AutoCAD.

The second course is entitled VectorWorks 3D - An Introduction to Modeling and Rendering, and is targeted towards those who have completed the VectorWorks Fundamentals seminar or for experienced users who wish to make the transition to 3D. The topics include: techniques for 3D object creation; 3D viewing tools, including flyovers and walkthroughs; using specialized hybrid tools for walls, floors, and roofs; practical layer and class setup for 3D models; producing 3D models using VectorWorks' layer linking feature; effective methods for lighting a model; using RenderWorks to apply lifelike textures to models; maximizing rendering performance; producing high quality printed output; and powerful 3D tips and tricks.

The Professional Learning Series tour will tentatively include the following cities: Columbia, San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, Providence, Seattle and Houston. Cities and dates are subject to change; a completed schedule will be available shortly at www.nemetschek.net/pls. Interested parties may also contact the sales department at 888-646-4223 or by e-mail, [email protected].
