LightWork Design Expands 3D Technologies for Macintosh Platform

LightWork Design has made two significant announcements this week ahead of the SIGGRAPH 2003 show in San Diego, California.

Macintosh 3D Technologies Get Bolstered

LightWork Design has announced a new version of its LightWorks Real-Time development product for the Macintosh platform. LightWorks Real-time gives application developers easy access to high quality, hardware assisted rendering for increasing user productivity through:

• Fast positioning of lights with real-time feedback
• Interactive editing of materials
• Accurate pre-visualization of final software rendered scenes
• Interactive photorealism

The new version brings the benefits of LightWorks Real-time to the Mac community, and makes it possible for software developers to integrate high-quality, interactive rendering into their applications without having to become experts in using low-level hardware APIs.

Robert Bou, President of Ashlar added, "I've been watching LightWorks Real-time since it's introduction. This is exciting technology. Now with the release of Real-time for the Mac we can seriously evaluate its implementation into our products on both the Mac and Windows platforms."

RPC Content Gets Cross-Platform Support

LightWork Design Announces Cross-Platform Support for RPC Content RPC functionality integrated within world's leading rendering engine! The new RPC Content functionality now enables Macintosh and cross-platform developers to support RPC people, trees and other objects.
