Mac CAD: BOA Event in Chicago Apple Store A Huge Success - Apple Store Wants More CAD Features To Drive Back Into Architecture Market

Chicago area architect, William Huchting, presented the makeARCHITECTURE seminar as part of the Chicago Apple Store's Made on a Mac Series of professional seminars this past Saturday, on the 20th of September. During the event he presented his use of the Macintosh platform and his mastery of BOA, by BOA Research, a building information modeler (BIM) architectural model-based CAD solution.

makeARCHITECTURE A Huge Success

The presentation was a huge success last Saturday, according to an email communication to Architosh, and the Chicago Apple Store (the largest Apple Store in the world) staff were duly impressed by the software. According to William the folks at the Apple Store want to feature BOA in future seminar events in a "drive to crack the architecture market."

The Chicago Apple Store staff have told William, "we have gotten dozens of architects in here and they all ask what CAD software they can run on a Mac." William has suggested that perhaps other architects could present their use of the Mac in local Apple Stores near them to bring attention to the masses and other professionals that the Macintosh is a great platform for creative professionals like architects.

BOA Forums Equal to ArchiCAD at Architosh

Additionally, William--a very passionate BOA user--wrote a note to us to make mention that the BOA forum posts inside the Architosh Forums have now reached the same level of activity as the ArchiCAD posts. The Architosh Forums are the number one community of users worldwide for exclusive Macintosh CAD and 3D discussion. There are separate forums for each major application in the market and at the moment BOA has risen to the same level as ArchiCAD in terms of posting activity. Of special note, the BOA forum posters are doing a great job of posting detailed How-To's complete with screenshots of 3D models and such -- making the forums an extremely rich learning environment for others.
