Architosh.com Announces Apple Xgrid Technologies Rendering Software Design Race for AEC Worth $20,000US

Architosh.com announces competition to spur on Xgrid rendering solutions targeting Architecture Market

PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island -- June 30, 2004 -- Architosh.com, the world's leading Web portal dedicated to Macintosh-based CAD/3D and AEC professionals, today announced a new Apple Xgrid Technologies Rendering Software Design Race for AEC. The first company to deliver a plug & play, easy-to-use supercomputing rendering solution for architects using Apple's new Xgrid technology will win over two years of free advertising on Architosh.com and other promotions and prizes worth over $20,000.US.

The Concept: Pixar for the Rest of Us

The concept is simple. Deliver an exclusively Xgrid-based rendering solution targeting the architectural market which would enable grid supercomputing directed at highend rendering solutions for architects.

"Architects' offices today are commonly filled with some of the most powerful workstation computers on the planet, such as the new dual processor Power Mac G5s", says Anthony Frausto-Robledo, founder and editor of Architosh.com, "yet it is a common fact that almost all renderings are done on a single computer." "Xgrid plus some smart Mac OS X developer can completely change that for the industry -- which would be a transformation for the industry over time."

Contest Facts and Rules

This contest is separate from our AEC software Tiger contest. There is no relationship. However, you can enter both with the same product. The Apple Xgrid Technologies Rendering Software Design Race by Architosh is available now and there is no formal entry. • Rule 4: The product must work with a grid of up 10 machines min. but must also work with as little as two machines.

  • Rule 6: The product must ship with an HTML manual and QuickTime movie demonstration showing how the product works.

Closing Remarks and Judging

The basic goal of the contest is to spur on the development of innovative technologies for the Mac OS X platforma software environment Architosh strongly believes offers more natural and promising technologies for technical creative professionals such as architects, interior designers, landscape architects, visualization professionals, and AEC engineers.

Final judging will be conducted by Architosh exclusively. The first product to ship to us and run on a minimum of four Mac OS X machines at Architosh's office and meet all six (6) rules above will be the winner so long as the product is available to ship within 15 days of qualifying the product against the six rules above.
