Architosh.com
announces competition to spur on Xgrid rendering solutions targeting
Architecture Market
PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island -- June 30, 2004 -- Architosh.com,
the world's leading Web portal dedicated to Macintosh-based CAD/3D
and AEC professionals, today announced a new Apple Xgrid
Technologies Rendering Software Design Race for AEC. The first
company to deliver a plug & play, easy-to-use supercomputing
rendering solution for architects using Apple's new Xgrid technology
will win over two years of free advertising on Architosh.com and
other promotions and prizes worth over $20,000.US.
The Concept: Pixar for the Rest of Us
The concept is simple. Deliver an exclusively Xgrid-based
rendering solution targeting the architectural market which
would enable grid supercomputing directed at highend rendering solutions
for architects.
"Architects' offices today are commonly filled with some of
the most powerful workstation computers on the planet, such as the
new dual processor Power Mac G5s", says Anthony Frausto-Robledo,
founder and editor of Architosh.com, "yet it is a common fact
that almost all renderings are done on a single computer."
"Xgrid plus some smart Mac OS X developer can completely change
that for the industry -- which would be a transformation for the
industry over time."
