Diehl Graphsoft Reports Record Revenues, Net Income for Qtr. 1, 2000!

In a press release dated October 14, Diehl Graphsoft, the developer of the award-winning MiniCAD VectorWorks CAD software for Macintosh and Windows, reported record revenues for the first quarter of 2000. The press release states:

"In an industry that has witnessed the financial troubles among various CAD companies, software developer, Diehl Graphsoft, Inc. reports record revenues that reflected a remarkable 43% rise over last year's figures, as well as a 78% increase in net income for the first fiscal quarter ended August 31, 1999. Company representatives ascribe the impressive figures to continued worldwide acceptance of their newest products as well as the announcement of future plans for product diversification."

Diehl Graphsoft, Inc, (Nasdaq SmallCap/DIEG) reported a 43% increase in revenues to a record $2,679,548 and a 78% increase in net income to a record $568,473 for the first quarter of 2000. In a quote from Richard Diehl, President and Chief Executive Officer, commenting on the announcements:

"Our first fiscal quarter results clearly illustrate the continued success that VectorWorks and RenderWorks have enjoyed since their launch in January 1999. Sales in our foreign markets were especially strong in Japan where we continue to maintain a leadership position and in Europe where the new products were first introduced late in fiscal 1999."

Revenues by platform: Windows and Macintosh

Windows customer revenues in the reported quarter rose to $674,502 from last year's same quarter revenues of $548,502 -- a 22.9% increase. Macintosh revenues in the reported quarter rose to $1,320,156 from last year's same quarter revenues of $928,680 -- a 42.2% increase.

Contrary to what some Macintosh MiniCAD VectorWorks users think and what some industry experts may be saying, Diehl Graphsoft's Macintosh revenues still provide a substantial portion of their total revenue -- and in the recent quarter provided twice the revenue of Windows users in addition to reporting a stronger percentage of revenue gain. That's solid good news for the world of Macintosh CAD.

Since 1996, Diehl Graphsoft has produced a Windows version of their award-winning Macintosh CAD software and it continues to make great gains in the Windows market, while Macintosh users continue to increase and provide substantial revenue for the company. This cross-platform strategy is contributing to Diehl Graphsoft's continued success, as it benefits Mac and Windows users both by allowing them greater freedom to choose the hardware best suited for their needs at any given time.
