Graphisoft acquires "leading-edge" UK-based design software firm
Graphisoft announced that they will acquire Cymap, a UK-based supplier of design software for HVAC and electrical design processes with the eventual goal of integrating it with its "virtual building" concept for object-oriented architectural CAD software product ArchiCAD. According to the press release, the Cymap will continue to operate as a separate company with its own R&D and support organization. Graphisoft's CEO, Gabor Bojar, said:
"Our customers have expressed a strong interest in such an addition to our Virtual Building technology." "Over the last 18 months we have examined many companies in various markets and found Cymap to be the optimal choice. This acquisition guarantees that our users will get even more value out of Graphisoft products."
