VectorWorks 9 Wins 2001 Macworld Editor's Choice Award

Architosh Press Report: Industry Leading CAD program nabs Macworld Award for Best Scientific/Engineering software for the Macintosh.

Columbia, Maryland (December 7, 2001)" One day after the release of its Mac OS X version, Nemetschek North America announced that its flagship product, VectorWorks 9, won the Macworld Eddy award as the Best Scientific/Engineering software for the Macintosh. This is the 17th annual Eddy awards and Nemetschek North America's products frequently appear as award finalists.

The Eddy Awards, the Apple Macintosh industry's highest distinction for breakthrough product development, are given to the year's top software and hardware products in 25 categories. The Macworld editors surveyed every Mac product on the market from November 1, 2000 to November 1, 2001, evaluating them for their overall quality as well as their utility, innovation and elegance. The twenty-five categories have three finalists in each category. A celebration party in honor of all the award recipients will be held on January 8th, the first evening of the Macworld Expo 2001 in San Francisco.

Richard Diehl, CEO Nemetschek North America, stated, "We are pleased to have been honored once again by the editors of Macworld as the best Scientific/Engineering software. We will proudly display our Eddy at our booth at the Macworld Expo 2001 where we will be presenting our 9.5 VectorWorks and Industry Series product line."

Charles Seiter, Macworld reviewer wrote, "VectorWorks has evolved from a capable but idiosyncratic program to one that more than holds its own in today's AutoCAD- and Windows-dominated world. For a large range of drafting tasks--from electronic schematics to theatrical set design--it's an obvious choice."

Nemetschek North America (formerly Diehl Graphsoft) is a wholly owned subsidiary of European software giant Nemetschek AG. A global leader in design technologies, Nemetschek N.A. has developed CAD software for the personal computer since 1985. VectorWorks, our flagship product, is one of the world's best selling CAD products and is available in over 85 countries and is translated in 14 languages. The VectorWorks Industry Series is a line of products designed specifically to meet the needs of designers in the fields of AEC, entertainment and landscape design.
