VectorWorks and Cinema 4D Unite - Under Parent Co.

Architosh Press Release Report: Nemetschek North America Announced Strategic Marketing Alliance with Sister Company

Columbia, Maryland (November 2, 2000) As a result of a plan to unite the Nemetschek family of products, Nemetschek North America announced today its alliance with its sister company, Maxon Computer, USA. The two companies are among the first in the Nemetschek AG corporate family to form a product alliance. Nemetschek North America company officials stated this is the first step in the company's strategy to introduce other relevant Nemetschek AG products to VectorWorks users.

VectorWorks Users Receive $1000 price reduction on Cinema4D!

To celebrate this alliance, VectorWorks users are entitled to special pricing on Cinema 4D, the award winning Professional 3D modeling animation and rendering software product. Normally retailing for $2195, VectorWorks users can purchase Cinema 4D, the world's fastest raytracing product for $995, a 55% discount. This offer is currently valid in the United States and Canada until December 31, 2000. At this time, the companies are exploring international interest; international users should e-mail [email protected].

Richard Diehl, CEO, Nemetschek North America, stated, "This special offer demonstrates to our users a very specific benefit of our becoming part of the Nemetschek AG family. We are currently evaluating other Nemetschek group products and hope to introduce other relevant products in our markets, giving our users solutions beyond the ones found in VectorWorks."

Paul Babb, President and CEO of Maxon Computer USA, stated, "We are thrilled to be teaming up with our sister company to a new group of users who might otherwise be unaware of our product. Hopefully, this is only the beginning of a very bright future for Cinema 4D and VectorWorks."

VectorWorks and Cinema 4D currently have some interoperability through the use of DXF file translation. Officials from both companies concur that they are committed to find ways to offer seamless file translation in the future. To learn more about this offer, visit www.nemetschek.net/cinema4D/.

Cinema 4D is a fully integrated 3D modeling, animation and rendering package for Windows 95/98/2000/NT and Macintosh. It is well known for its surprisingly fast and photorealistic-quality raytracer. Architosh Analysis

As mentioned in our exclusive interview with Sean Flaherty, CTO, of Nemetschek NA, Cinema4D may be on the future 'VectorWorks Road Map', in some form or another. For those users of VectorWorks looking for extensive rendering and animation power Cinema 4D is definitely a powerful choice. Not only does it allow architects and other AEC users to get familiar with the power of Cinema 4D, but allows 3D professionals to get familiar with the powerful 2D/3D drafting abilities of VectorWorks. This is good because MiniCAD VectorWorks has been increasingly noted for its abilities in non-AEC disciplines, such as for its role in the film The Matrix.

Nemetschek North America (formerly Diehl Graphsoft) is a wholly owned subsidiary of European software giant Nemetschek AG. A global leader in design technologies, Nemetschek N.A. has developed CAD software for the personal computer since 1985. VectorWorks is one of the world's best selling CAD products and has more than 105,000 users in over 85 countries.
