Feedback: Oh where has that Architosh Forum gone?

A loyal reader has written in to ask about the state of the Architosh Forums. Remember those? Douglas Greiner, ASLA writes:

Dear Faithful Keeper of the Architosh Website,

I realize that you, like the rest of us, are trying to make a living and at the same time maintain the Architosh website. It is a responsibility I could never fulfill. If it were up to me I would have been tarred and feathered, run out of town, and my domain name would have been packaged with the tea before being hurled into Boston Harbor !

However, is there any news when the Architosh Forum will be up and running. I have a meager existence and I must sadly admit the Forum is an interesting diversion from my normal work routine.

Please advise.

The Complete Answer

Thank you, thank you, Douglas! Your email has warmed my heart. It's readers like you and your kind words that maintain my spirits and personal resolve to hold this often cold and lonely outpost in the Mac universe called CAD and 3D, and call it home. "Faithful Keeper"? Such words keep me fighting for the Mac in the AEC world. And I will continue to hold the post so long as such kind and thoughtful letters such as yours grace my Outlook Express mail box.

As for the Architosh Forums? I am afraid to report that the folks at MacNN.com—who are many years my junior and all the more tech savvy on the Web server than I will ever be—do not hold Architosh so close to their hearts as I was originally led to believe. Sadly, I have the hardest time imaginable getting decent communications with them, and as of this writing I am not sure where the Forums are. I was promised the Thanksgiving holiday time frame. But I was promised things before that too, and promises have not been kept.

And I must admit, this weary proprietor of the only reputable source of Mac-centric CAD/3D/AEC IT information on the Net—solely devoted and passionate to this subject—has grown tired of second-class citizenship on the MacNN.com news network! It's time for a change!

Time For A Change

Folks, we all deserve better. We've been holding the candle of hope for the Macintosh community in the CAD and 3D industries for nearly four years now, via the Architosh site. The Forums were a big part of that! So it's time for a change! A real change! Do you not agree?

I have great plans for new and expanded content. I have the support of renewing sponsors and the support of happy readers. So change is in the wind. And I am confident we will get the Architosh Forum data back. And I am hoping it will not be hard and painful. And I encourage and thank you for your support.
