Is
Alex an American? Will she speak other languages?
Alex
speaks English.
She
represents a world in this motion picture. She is a mixture
of all human nationalities though she may reflect the look
of one.
When
you created Alex did you have the game market in mind as well
or was her character development limited to just the film
genre?
Alex
was definitely created with both the game and motion picture
market in mind. It is traditional to do the film first and
later create the game. The game is usually an after thought
with the film being the primary content. This can be difficult
for game designers to capture the essence of the cinematic
elements from the film into the game. We have built this property
from the ground up to work for both film and video game. We
wanted the audience to believe in the 'game play' when they
play the game. Therefore the feel of the 'game play' is built
into the film. With Dis_Konnected and Alex, both the
story and game play are interwoven in a manner that is natural
for the story and the characters.
How
do you see young tween and teenage girls responding to Alex?
What does Alex have to offer these young girls in terms of
a role model? And what effect will she have on teenage boys?
Alex
is a real role model because she has dimension and has emotional
depth as a character. We see her much more as an actress and
not as a digital being. She has flaws.
Our
world is imperfect. Alex goes through the same emotional process
of dealing with our imperfect world and reacting. Sometimes
she can find the immediate answer but more often then not,
she doesn't.
She
faces life's difficult moments as a girl. There are situations
that only young girls understand that are part of Alex's personality.
The way Alex deals with them is what makes Alex a good role
model. It also serves as an example to young men to see what
young girls are going through helping them to understand girls
a bit better.
Thanks
for sharing more on Alex with us.
You're
welcome.
