MacCAD: RealCADD 2.0 now available

French programmer Eric POUSSE has announced that his Macintosh CAD product RealCADD 2.0 is now available. The product is created with REALBasic, from REAL Software Inc., and is the first CAD product to come from this programming environment.

New to RealCADD 2.0 are the following features:

• Tool for prolonging and cutting lines
• Parallel Tool
• New Windows menu item
• Conversion of objects into lines
• Conversion of objects into polygons
• Hatch joined lines
• Align Selected Objects
• Text menu now has "Other"
• Layers with preset colors
• Rotation of objects, not including text
• Scale Objects command
• Quotation at an angle and Quotation in inches or feet
• Speed and printing improvements
• DXF reading improvements
• Bug fixes

RealCADD is a new product since early this year (works a lot like MacDraw) and it is good to see an update so quickly. The product sells for just $75, putting it clearly in the most affordable category for a general CAD application. The product is also now available for Windows, compiling under REALBasic for Windows 95/98/2000.
